Farrow and Ball Zebras

Hi everyone! so its been a rewarding week at Alice Wotton Art! I finished my zebra commission for a client.

I am calling these "Farrow and Ball" Zebras because I incorporated the clients colours from the interior of the room in to the Zebras stripes. The colour used is called "Oval room blue" and is what is featured in the client photos below. my framer handmade the beautiful frame which I painted in the same white that featured in the room, which was called "Wimborne White".

Myself and the client were so so pleased with how classy the piece looked in the room and it gave such a personal touch for the client to have every detail thought about thoroughly.

finding your dream piece of art is really a journey worth taking.

This photo shows the piece before being installed on to the wall. as you can see the piece harmoniously fits with the interior.

When discussing with the client about the details of the piece they were undecided on whether to have a monochrome piece or more of a statement piece and I feel the subtle accents of navy, turquoise, gold and silver with touches of red to contrast really makes this piece a stylish special piece of art with out being too harsh.

When discussing this commission with the client I asked for a video panning round the entire room this enabled me to see what the wall colours looked like but also gain an understanding of what other colours went in the room, this included the book shelf colours, the gold finishing on the lights and the grey and teal tones in the soft furnishings.

All these small accents of colours inspired the idea to include them in to the stripes of the baby zebra. This idea being incredibly personal to the home owner and allowing the piece to seamlessly blend with the surroundings.

This piece took roughly 4 weeks to complete which entailed 25+ hours.

I was super happy with the outcome of this piece and being able to view it in the clients home was so so rewarding. Creating such personal art is a real joy.

I hope you all love it as much as I do!

Thanks for reading!
